The cultural heart of Prague, Wenceslas Square is the 750m long boulevard where you will find the highest concentration of tourist attractions, shops, and nightlife in the city.
As a result of its central location, and reputation as the heart of Prague, Wenceslas Square is one of the most popular tourist areas in the city. Within a short distance of its pavement cafes and bustle there are many rewarding attractions to see. These include the famous Prague State Opera, and the National Museum. Other sights of interest are the statue of St Wenceslas, and the memorials to all the residents of Prague who died during the communist period, as well as other memorials from the 600-year history of Wenceslas Square.
Although the square is busy throughout the day, and a popular place to people watch, it is at night that it really comes into its own. There are literally dozens of bars and nightclubs. People spill out onto the streets, and the atmosphere of fun is infectious.
