Prague's famous Old Town Square dates back nearly 700 years to the early days if the city. It is home to many of Prague's most important buildings, and as such is an essential part of any tour of the city.

Amongst the attractions on offer around the Old Town Square, the astronomical Clock on the Old Town Hall Tower is the best known. This impressive edifice is an icon of the city. You should arrive on the hour to see the hourly animation of the statues. It is a memorable experience.

The Church of Our Lady Before Tyn mixes Baroque and Gothic styles and is beautifully lit at night. Nearby St Nicholas' Church is conventionally Baroque in design. It is often described as being one of the most beautiful buildings in Prague - both inside and out.

There are many coffee bars and restaurants around the Old Town Square where you can sit out and enjoy a drink or a snack. There are many back streets that lead away from the square. These are a great place to shop in smaller craft shops and upmarket boutiques. You can find the latest fashions for less, and get unique gifts and souvenirs of your visit to Prague.
