Enjoy Prague more with our guide to the Mala Strana
Lying at the foot of Prague Castle hill, Mala Strana, Prague's lesser town is a treasure trove of Baroque architecture that is a rewarding and enjoyable place to explore during your stay in Prague. Most people arrive into Mala Strana across the iconic Charles Bridge, and the first sight is Mala Strana Tower.
For a price of roughly £1.25, you can climb to the top of the tower in order to see some great views over the Old Town on the other side of the Vltava River, and across Mala Strana itself.
Other attractions on offer in the letter town are the many Baroque buildings such as the gorgeous church of St Nicholas, and the many merchants' houses that have provided the backdrop to many films and television programmes over the years.
Most visitors pass through Mala Strana and then head up Nerudova Street on their way to Prague Castle, and ignore the town, but spend some time exploring Mala Strana, and you will discover many fascinating attractions including some of the best boutique shops in all of Prague, where there are many great bargains to be had on the latest fashion items.
